My other favorite filly of all time. She should be a great deal easier to guess. Between these two fillies, I can’t even say which is my favorite. They’re both so incredible in my eyes. I love my old school ladies.

thesportofkings:

I’ll Have Another winner of both the 2012 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes.

I would just like to say… I called this horse from the start. He was my pick. We’ll see how he does in the Third Leg!!!

this will be amazing to see a horse win the triple crown. That’s a once in a lifetime experience
thesportofkings:

I don’t remember where I got this from… It’s not mine. If someone knows who made this, please could you let me know? I’d love to give them credit for such a beautiful GIF!

this is neville bardos, international horse of the year.
ten years ago, he was just another slow racehorse on the auction block, ready to be sold to a slaughterhouse. boyd martin (the rider) bought him for $850 on a whim - a whim that seriously paid off. by 2006 he was an international champ, and in 2010 he was a prospect for the 2012 olympics.
but in may of last year, neville was caught in a terrible barn fire that killed six other horses. he was the last horse to be saved and thanks to massive damage to his lungs from the smoke, he barely survived. the vet said he would never compete again.
this photo was taken just 3 months after that fire. neville and boyd placed seventh in this competition, one of the most prestigious in the world. this summer, he will probably compete as part of the us olympic eventing team.
moral of the story? you can push through anything. don’t give up!

I say what I think. My song ‘Gunpowder and Lead’ is about domestic violence. When I saw [Chris Brown perform] at the Grammys, it upset me. I felt like the entertainment industry wasn’t sending a good message. So I tweeted about it. [“He beat on a girl…. Not cool that we act like that didn’t happen.] I could have kept it to myself, but I’m glad I didn’t. If I saw him, I’d say, ‘We need to talk about you not doing this ever again.’ And I might have to use some curse words to get my point across.
